‘I have greatly enjoyed the Tai Chi class Rich has run at U3A this year. The gentle exercises have been good for my joints and my balance, the insights into Tai Chi movements and philosophy interesting and enlightening, the social aspects of group activity good, and also Rich’s stories which have been amusing and stimulating. I look forward to each class and intend to continue next year’ Peter Terry

‘Rich’s approach to practice is so refreshing - he champions the simplicity of anchoring into the body with a unique combination of Qigong, yoga and other healing modalities in an inclusive approach that spans all levels of capability. He has completely revived my love of daily practice and I would recommend his classes to absolutely everyone’. Anna Reeves

I practiced with Rich almost every morning for 4 months in 2020. I can say with sincerity, that daily practice got me through the initial shock of the pandemic hitting. I believe having that regular, wise, grounding, peaceful, enlightening daily practice with such an incredible teacher is what got me through that period. I’m now back at work and I can feel the difference in not doing it, I hope to return to daily practice with Rich as soon as I can. He is one of the best spiritual teachers I’ve ever worked with (and have had one kind of practice or another for 15 years or so). Jess Beston

‘‘U3A Tai Chi class led by Rich Moffat has not been just an exercise class. While slowly learning the movements we have also learnt its history and philosophy, and also the benefits for our external body and internal organs as well as our minds. Rich’s warm and non-judgmental teaching style has encouraged us to persevere despite our “beginners’ minds” and seniors’ brain fades!  What started as a class of mostly strangers has become a friendly and supportive group.  My personal benefits as well as physical exercise have been improved coordination and concentration. I also found working through the movements repetitively very relaxing. 5 stars!’   Pat Robins

‘I’ve attended Rich’s Tai Chi class this year and have enjoyed it immensely. It’s been beneficial both physically and mentally. Rich has been a lovely teacher, incredibly patient and shares his enthusiasm warmly. It’s been a really good experience and I’m looking forward to continuing next year’.  Jill Bolitho

‘I joined the tai chi class quite late in the term. It's a very friendly, welcoming group of people.  I have no experience of tai chi but I think Rich is a very good teacher. He's patient, sensitive and good on detail and technique... whilst mixing it up with a wry, gentle humour’  Stephanie Margetts

‘I have really enjoyed attending this informative class, a great mix of gentle exercise, good company and much food for thought. I like the idea that a beginner's mind is a great place to start each class. We have been working our way through a series of exercises, which will eventually form a flowing practice. Even if some parts feel a bit rusty when I try, it's all OK and I'm learning to trust my own way of moving. A great way to begin the week!’  Helen

‘Rich is skilled in his approach and gently listens to what is going on with my body before the beginning of the session - is generous and shares his knowledge in how to better take care of our selves and change habit energies to adapt healthy practices. I have found healing and ease of movement, restfulness and relaxation after Rich's sessions.  Would highly recommend’ Monisha Chand

‘Thank you for the U3A tai chi sessions this year. Your warmth, humour, knowledge and understanding made it about so much more than just tai chi movements. It was a great group of people and I think you brought out the best in us. I'm still trying to decide which of the sessions to put my name down for next year’   Heather Farmer
