How does Qigong practice influence my health?

Qigong is based on T.C.M (Traditional Chinese Medicine)

·      It treats the root cause, not just the symptoms

·      Helps us live in balance and find harmony with nature

·      Maintenance of body

·      Prevention of illness

·      Activates body’s natural healing capacity

in comparison, Western medicine

·      Starts after the problem

·      Often ignores causes of the problem

·      Can be Invasive – surgery, chemicals – these often create side effects and other health issues

Yet T.C.M and western medicine are complimentary, not in competition

Qigong works within western medicine’s idea of the

·      Nervous system - Bio electrical messages / fascia / Qi

·      Endocrine system (Hormones) - blood

·      Immune / Lymphatic system – building resilience

Qigong and chronic pain in body

·      practice builds muscle strength

·      practice helps with balance and stability of joints – bone density – arthritis

·      Heart health – helps lower blood pressure

·      Usually means better sleep = the body’s repair time

Qigong and the mind

·      Helps with things like anxiety, over-thinking, depression

·      Better cognitive function – better decisions!
